CODE OF ETHICS

RAIDERS FC

Raiders FC has created a “Code of Ethics” for the express purpose of ensuring a safe and educational environment for our youth sports program.

By registering with Raiders FC, players, parents and the club agree to adhere to this code of ethics and understand the consequences of our actions.

Prior to participating in Raiders FC activities, players and parents will sign that they agree to abide by the Raiders FC Code of Ethics as written in this document.

Our purpose is to promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, achievement or excellence, self-confidence and fun for players and their families through the game of soccer. The conduct of coaches, family members and spectators is critical to this process. Considering the thousands of people involved with Raiders FC games, the instances of poor conduct each year are remarkably few. These few instances, however, will not be tolerated. Civility, decency and respect are concepts that we all should understand. Each person attending a Raiders FC game should be aware of the following standards:

PLAYER/PARENT/CLUB EXPECTATIONS AGREEMENT

RAIDERS FC WILL PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING:

1. Raiders FC will provide a comprehensive soccer program, which is designed to maximize each player’s fullest potential. Each player will be assigned to a team that will have a Head Coach, who is overseen by the Raiders FC Executive Director. From time to time, optional fee based camps and programming will be offered to Raiders FC members, which is not part of the base registration fee.

2. In an effort to develop every player, teams will train and play games. Each team will be entered into a league that meets their ability. Raiders FC will pay for one league entry for the approved league.

PLAYERS

1. I will encourage good sportsmanship from fellow players, coaches, officials and parents at all times.

2. I will remember that soccer is an opportunity to learn and have fun.

3. I deserve to play in an environment that is free of drugs, tobacco, and alcohol; and expect everyone to refrain from their use at all soccer games.

4. I will do the best I can each day, remembering that all players have talents and weaknesses the same as I do.

5. I will treat my coaches, other players and coaches, game officials, other administrators, and fans with respect at all times; regardless of race, sex, creed, or abilities, and I will expect to be treated accordingly.

6. I will concentrate on playing soccer, always giving my best effort.

7. I will play by the rules at all times.

8. I will at all times control my temper, resisting the temptation to retaliate.

9. I will always exercise self- control.

10. I will be in accordance with Raiders FC rules.

11. While traveling, I will conduct myself properly as a representative of Raiders FC.

12. Alcohol, illegal drugs and unauthorized prescription drugs shall not be possessed, consumed or distributed before, during or after any game or at any other time at the field and/or game complex or while traveling as a representative of Raiders FC.

PARENTS/SPECTATORS/GUARDIANS

1. Raiders FC is a premier competitive soccer club; there is NO guarantee of minimum playing time. The Executive Director will handle all unresolved disputes between coaches and players. In the interest of player development, players will occasionally cross-train or guest play within age groups, and/or guest play outside the Club (e.g. college showcase opportunities). Such guest playing opportunities will only be with the express pre-approval of the Executive Director.

2. From time – to – time there will be team expenses above and beyond the base registration fee, referred to as team expenses. Team expenses may include participation in the Midwest Regional League (MRL), tournament fees, extra soccer gear, coaches travel reimbursement, referees fees for tournaments and other non-league games, and travel costs associated with attending these events. The team may seek and receive donations or, with Club pre-approval, fundraise to defray these expenses. To the extent such donations and/or fundraising amounts are deposited and credited to a team’s account, they may be used to pay for such expenses. These funds will remain with Raiders FC in the event the player decides to leave the Club, with any unused amount moving with the team account as it progresses year-to-year in their age group.

3. The Executive Director will work with each Head Coach to determine the tournaments and programming that will be appropriate for each team and player. All tournament entries and other soccer related activities will be pre-approved by the Executive Director. The decision made by the Executive Director will be final.

4. The Executive Director will work with each Head Coach on the practice location and time. The decision made by the Executive Director will be final.

5. I understand and will support changes to practice due to the weather, field availability, daylight savings time and the coaches’ availability.

6. I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, game officials, and administrators at all times.

7. I will place the emotional and physical well being of all players ahead of any personal desire to win.

8. I will support the coaches, officials, and administrators working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.

9. I will remember that the game is for the players, not for the adults.

10. I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, game officials, administrators, and fans with respect.

11. I will always be positive.

12. I will always allow the coach to be the only coach. I will not coach from the sidelines or through other forms of communication.

13. I will not get into arguments with the opposing team’s parents, players, or coaches.

14. I will not come onto the field for any reason during the game.

15. Neither coaches, parents, nor other team supporters may make critical, abusive or offensive comments to the players, coaches or supporters of an opposing team before, during, or after a game.

16. Games are officiated by referees and their assistants, not coaches, parents, or spectators. There is a process and a time for coaches to disagree with calls. Voice your opinion to your coach, not the officials.

17. Parents and other team supporters may not approach game officials at any time for the purpose of disputing calls, or making critical, abusive or offensive comments.

18. As a parent/guardian I agree to pay the fees outlined by Raiders FC. Failure to remit payment on a timely basis may result in suspension from all soccer activities until dues have been paid.

19. Neither coaches, parents nor other team supporters may be present behind goals or on the first 18 yards of each sideline beginning at each corner. These "clear zones" protect keepers and players taking corner kicks.

20. The referee may require any person present at a Raiders FC game to leave the game site.

21. Raiders FC will prosecute or support the prosecution of anyone who violates any law or ordinance (e.g. assault or possession of alcohol).

22. Any coach, assistant coach, manager, parent, spectator, or player who is dismissed from a game by a referee or a Raiders FC Official must leave the complex immediately.

23. The individual may not return to the complex or field after the game. The individual may not return to the complex until one hour after the scheduled completion of the next contest of that team. Any individual who violates these rules will be suspended for an additional game. Any coach, assistant coach, manager, parent, spectator, or player who is dismissed from a game by a referee or a Raiders FC Official for fighting must leave the complex immediately. The individual may not return to the complex or field after the game. The individual is immediately suspended from attending the next two games of that team. Furthermore, the individual may not attend any other game involving Raiders FC teams until the two game suspension has ended. Any individual who violates these rules will be suspended for an additional game.

These are minimum sanctions.

Violations of these standards will result in the ejection of the violator from Raiders FC facilities temporarily or permanently. Violations by a coach, parent, or other family member may also result in the suspension of the coach, the parent, the parent's child or the team from membership in Raiders FC or the violator's local association. Soccer is a game.

Youth soccer is for the enjoyment of young people and their families. The overwhelming majority of our community understands what these simple facts mean. The positive examples you provide for your children are valued.

The Board of Directors at Raiders FC requires that the parent(s) or guardian(s) of each player registered read the above Code of Conduct and agree to uphold the guidelines set forth above. A player’s registration is not complete until the Code of Ethics is read, accepted and signed (on the Registration Form).

Each player and parent has received and read the Raiders FC Code of Ethics, and agrees to abide by those requirements by signing the registration form. By signing the registration form, each player and parent accepts a position with the Raiders FC and agrees to act in a respectful manner at all practices, games, travel, etc, and serve as role models to others to maintain the integrity of ourselves, our team, and all of Raiders FC and affiliated organization and its players and parents will conduct themselves in accordance with and be governed by Raiders FC and NISL and IYSA rules at all time.

Failure to comply may result in the suspension of your privilege to participate in Raiders FC sanctioned events, for the following periods:

1st offense suspension minimum fourteen (14) days to a maximum of one (1) years

2nd offense suspension for a minimum of one (1) year to a maximum of Ten (10) years

3rd offense suspension for a minimum of five (5) years to a maximum of fifty (50) years.

NOTE: Any individual charged with a violation of this Code of Ethics shall be afforded due process before the implementation of any suspension.

Upon acceptance of a spot on a Raiders FC team, each player (and family) shall be expected to make a commitment to the team for the entire year (fall, spring and indoor seasons). This commitment includes:

·         Filling the roster spot on the team for the entire year

·         Remitting dues for the entire year

No refunds of dues payments will be made once a position has been accepted on a team. Additionally, the commitment to pay all annual dues for the year is binding notwithstanding circumstances which may arise that limit a player’s activity with the team. Any request for a special waiver of this policy based on extraordinary circumstances must be made in writing to the Executive Director. The decision of the Executive Director will be final. Failure to remit dues payments on a timely basis may result in suspension from all soccer activities until dues have been paid. Any Raiders FC player/family with a prior outstanding dues balance will not be permitted to participate in competitive play or tryouts for the following year or play within Raiders FC until such balance has been paid.
